Herr is one of forty-eight people spending their first days at a newly opened Avivo Village homeless shelter in St. Cloud. Avivo is a nonprofit that also runs a tiny home village in Minneapolis.“They don t push anything on you, but they want you to transition,” he explains. “Like, what do we need to do to get you into a place? How can we get you housed and get you off the streets permanently?” Each client stays in a secure, lockable tiny home. The village is located in a climate-controlled warehouse.
